The School of Life Sciences established in 2000, formerly known as the Institute of Molecular Medicine founded in 1979, is one of the most energetic schools in the university. Our school has always been adhering to the operating mission of "Be noble and seek truth". There are three undergraduate majors in Biological Science, Biotechnology, and Medical Laboratory Technology. The school is authorized to have five master's degree programs including Microbiology and Biochemical Pharmacy, Biology and Medicine, and two doctoral degree programs in Basic Discipline of Chinese and Western Medicine Integrative and Medical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Relying on the geographical advantage of Hangzhou as the vice-center of Changjiang River Delta and the highland for the development of biomedical industry, and with the strong traditional Chinese medicine background of the university, the school aims to comprehensively build a discipline and specialty system integrating the advantages of modern biotechnology and traditional Chinese medicine.
